(makes 6-8 bread bowls)
Ingredients:
2 C. + 2 Tbs. warm water
2 Tbs. active yeast (or two packages)
1/2 C. melted butter
2 Tbs. sugar and 1 tsp.
3 Tsp. salt
6 1/2 C. flour
Directions:
Using a standard mixer or large bowl, add warm water and sprinkle in yeast and 1 tsp. sugar. Let sit for a couple of minutes until foamy. Add melted butter, sugar and salt and mix until combined well. Gradually add flour. Once flour is combined, let your mixer knead the dough for about 5 minutes (you can also do this by hand). Cover the dough with a wet cloth or plastic wrap and let double. Then punch down and make six to eight equal sized balls. Place on greased cookie sheet and let rise until doubled. Preheat oven to 425 degrees and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Let cool and cut off the top.
